BIOGRAPHY
Richard Frederick is a sculptor specializing in figurative work – portraits, sports figures and animals.
At an early age, Richard dabbled in pencil drawing, watercolors and acrylic painting, almost always drawn to the beauty and mystery of the human form. He also spent some time working with wood and creating furniture combined with finding and restoring antiques.
He was always pulled by the creative side of his nature, but as so often happens, life’s responsibilities took most of his time. As the founder of a jewelry making company, which grew from three people to over one hundred serving an international customer base, there was not a lot of time to pursue his love of art.
Now retired, there is time to create when he’s not traveling with his wife, Jenis, and nurturing their five grandsons. After a beginners class at the Goggleworks, Richard discovered his love and talent for sculpting. Working primarily in clay to start, the pieces progress to finished works in terra cotta, urethane, cold cast bronze and hot forged bronze.
